عن النار التي حرقت الجديلة
A story about a fire that consumed a plait
   


 وعن طفلة لم يسمحوا لها بأن تكبر
And a baby girl that didn’t grow up

   

وعن كرة قدم لم تقذف
About a football that wasn’t kicked

   

وعن حمامة قتلتها دبابة فلم تطرAbout a dove that didn’t fly



   أريد أن أروي قصة مفتاح لم يستعمل من زمان طويل
I want to tell a story about a key that wasn’t used


   
عن غرفة الدروس التي لم يأت إليها التلامذة
About a classroom that wasn’t attended

 
 
عن كتاب لم يقرأ
About a book that wasn’t read

    


عن حقل ومزرعة محاصرتين
وعن فاكهتها التي لم تجنى
About a besieged lonely farm
And about its fruits that weren’t picked


   
وعن كذبة لم تفضح
About a lie that wasn't discovered



   وقصة كنيسة لم تعد تعقد القداديس فيها
A story about a church that’s no longer prayed in



   وعن مسجد دمر
And a mosque that no longer stands


   وعن ثقافة لم يعد يستمتع بها
And a culture no longer rejoiced



   وقصة سطح بيت ترابي معشب
I want to tell a story about a muddy grassy roof




   وقصة حجر في يد ولد فلسطيني يواجه به دبابة صهيونية
About a stone that faced a tank



   وعن علم عربي فلسطيني عنيد يرفض أن ينكس
And about a stubborn flag that refuses to lie down



   
وقصة روح عربية لا يمكن دحرها
About a spirit that cannot be defeated

   

أريد أن أخبر العالم قصة
I want to tell the world a story




   الآن أشعلوا شمعة صغيرة لفلسطين
Now light a little candle for Palestine




بامكانكم القيام بذلك
اشعلوا شمعة... شمعة صغيرة
ققط جربوا ذلك
مجرد شعاع نور
لتنير ظلمة الليالي الداكنة
عندما ينبلج الفجر
فقط أنظر وشاهد
هل بامكانك ملاحظة ذلك
هل بمكنك مشاهدة
جبروت الظلام
في العالم
لن تتمكن من اطفاء اخفت شعاع نور
